POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:

 

FORMAT:

  • All players will compete in an 18-hole, net stroke-play championship. 
  • The championship field will be divided evenly into flights based on each player’s Handicap Index as of November 21.   

 

Flight Breakdown:

        Indian Wells GR (Players Course):

  • Palm Flight: Participants with Handicap Indexes 14.1 – 18.5
  • San Andreas Flight: Participants with Handicap Indexes 18.6 and above.

 

  • During the championship, players will use their Handicap Index (as of November 21) and will receive 95% of their Course Handicap (unless otherwise noted by the SCGA).
  • Awards will be given to those who finish in 1st through 5th place in each flight. 
  • All ties at the championship will be broken using the USGA suggested method of matching scorecards (Committee Procedures: Section 5A (6)).

 

REGISTRATION:

All players must check in at the SCGA registration table located outside the golf shop by the driving range. Registration will begin at 6:30 a.m.

 

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS: 

  • Starting times and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted online at scga.org one week in advance of the championship.
  • The championship will be an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
  • Players are encouraged to arrive at the facility well in advance of the shotgun start to register, warm up, and get situated in their golf carts for the championship announcements ahead of the shotgun start.

 

TEES & YARDAGES:   

  • All yardages and course information can be found under the Yardages tab located on the Championship Portal.
    • Men will play will from the WHITE tee markers: 6,006 yards / Course Rating: 69.1 / Slope Rating: 122.
    • Women will play from the GREEN tee markers: 5,636 yards / Course Rating: 74.0 / Slope Rating: 127.

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS:

  • Players may plan for practice rounds at their own expense. To book a practice round, visit https://www.indianwellsgolfresort.com/book_tt/. Indian Wells GR is also generously providing a Promo code discount for practice rounds from Monday, November 28 through Saturday, December 3 throughout the day; use promo code scga at checkout to receive a discounted practice round rate. The course will be closed on Sunday, December 4.
  • Practice rounds are a privilege, not a right. The SCGA works with a variety of facilities throughout the course of the year, all of which have unique policies and procedures when it comes to practice rounds. These opportunities will be provided at the sole discretion of the host facility.
  • We are guests and must follow all facility policies and guidelines when on property. Behavior during practice rounds will be subject to the SCGA Code of Conduct.

 

DRIVING RANGE:

  • The driving range will be available at sunrise the morning of the championship. 
  • Range balls will be provided compliments of Indian Wells GR and the SCGA.

 

FOOD SERVICE & PURCHASES:

  • The food truck will be available for purchases throughout the day.
  • The SCGA will host a players’ luncheon after the completion of play.

 

RULES OF PLAY:

 

GOLF CARTS & PULL/PUSH CARTS:

  • Golf carts are included with the entry fee; however, players who are able and willing to walk may do so.
  • There will be a maximum of two carts per group and two bags per cart. Players wishing to ride will be expected to share a cart with another player.
  • Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart. If a player brings a caddie, the caddie may ride provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts. Otherwise, either the player or the caddie must walk.
  • Drivers must be at least 16 years of age (or older if club policy dictates).
  • Pull or push carts are permitted if a player chooses to walk.

 

CADDIES & SPECTATORS:

  • Players may provide their own caddie (see section on golf carts).
  • Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the facility.

 

DRESS CODE:

Appropriate golf attire must be worn, including adhering to any facility-specific policies.

 

CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:

  • To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of a SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Department at champs@scga.org.
  • Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions.
  • Refund Policy:
    • Cancelation prior to the entry closing date: Full refund less a $20 administrative fee.
    • Cancelation after the entry closing date and more than 48 hours prior to the start of the competition: 50% of the entry fee.
    • Cancelation within 48 hours of the start of the competition: No refund.
